We are the
D’Arbonne Church of Christ: a community of
people who believe in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the unique, divine Son of God who revealed God’s person,
purpose, and plan to mankind. Through God’s infinite
wisdom and love He sent His Son into this world,
born of a virgin, to take upon Himself humanity in
order to live the complete human experience, and
ultimately become the atoning sacrifice for the
sinful human race after having lived a perfect,
sinless life. We believe that through the power of
God’s Holy Spirit, Jesus was raised to life
on the third day after His death by crucifixion, and
that He reigns supreme over His kingdom having
been given all power and authority by God in heaven
and on earth. Jesus is both Savior and Lord.

The D’Arbonne Church
of Christ was officially born in November of 1999. Several members of the Fairview Church of Christ,
located near Marion, Louisiana lived in Farmerville
and had desired for a number of years to begin a
new congregation in Farmerville. Those in the
Fairview congregation living in and around Marion agreed to support those interested in starting the new congregation, and the D’Arbonne church was
born. Approximately thirty Christians started the
congregation, and now the D’Arbonne Church of
Christ numbers about 140 people. The congregation
in Farmerville had long been a dream of the late
evangelist Billy Orten, who lived and worked many
years in Union Parish. The D’Arbonne congregation
is deeply indebted to his wisdom and foresight
that helped make this work possible.
